Catherine House: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Elisabeth Thomas
Catherine's husband, Blake, had been shot and killed by a police officer. Catherine wanted to take revenge against the officer who took her husband's life and left her with just a shattered life. She then plotted to murder the same officer. More than a year after she had done it, she was still getting in her nightly routines when the police found out the truth and arrested her.
This is the story of a young woman named Catherine House who has been kidnapped and taken to an unknown location by her captor, Thomas. She must try to escape soon before she becomes Catherine Dead. Unfortunately, the man who held her captive was Thomas's father, James. James wanted Catherine as his wife but would not take no for an answer so he planned out a plan that would be sure to get her in the end.
In Catherine House, Elisabeth Thomas tells the story of a mother trying to save her daughter from a dangerous cult. The cult leader is also the mastermind of her daughter's kidnapping, which leads her on a long and arduous journey. When she finally reaches the cult's compound outside Mexico City, the leader's wife refuses to allow entry with a false security guard and instructions that only he can hear. She then journeys across Mexico and uses every resource available to find her daughter before it's too late.
Catherine House is a novel written by Elisabeth Thomas. This story is narrated by Inés Del Castillo, the protagonist's sister-in-law who has recently married into the family. Inés narrates the events that take place after Catherine's husband, Victor, leaves his wife for his mistress. After a series of misunderstandings and miscommunications, Catherine's lifestyle changes dramatically.
Inés Del Castillo's voice is a perfect fit for the character of Catherine House. Inés' voice feels like you are listening to an individual who has real life experience with all aspects of being human. There is a raw quality about her performance that seems like she has been through everything and is still trying to take it in.
Catherine House is a story of obsession, a story of grief and how we deal with the loss of somebody close to us. Although it's not an easy read, this book is very well written and flows wonderfully. The narrator does a great job voicing the different emotions that Catherine goes through throughout the novel. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to read something thought provoking.
