Brunswick Gardens Free Audiobook Download by Anne Perry
This was a great audio book. "Brunswick Gardens" by Anne Perry is at the end of her long career and this is probably one of the better books in it. It's a mystery, but also very different with a new approach to story telling
As the investigator becomes more acquainted with her surroundings, the narrator's voice introduces each new setting in the garden, which leads to an increase in suspense. The narrator tells of a character's thoughts, problems, and emotions.
Amelia Courtenay is a governess who has some issues with her family and the events that led to her leaving them when she was sixteen. She is hired by Mrs. Jackman, wealthy widow of a former Naval Admiral, to tutor her children, who have benefited greatly from their time learning Latin and Greek under Amelia's care. Her life takes an unexpected turn when she discovers the Jackman home has been built on a historical site where an important battle took place in WWI.
Brunswick Gardens, the fourth novel in Anne Perry's Victorian mystery series, features the return of Detective William Monk to London. When a wealthy banker is found murdered in his home, with no apparent motive or clues as to who committed the crime, Monk and his assistant are called in by the police. They soon realize that they are not dealing with a simple murder case but rather something much more dangerous than they could have ever imagined.
This audiobook is a perfect for those who love some good mystery and romance. This particular story takes place in England during World War II, and the main character, Harriet Vane, starts out as an orphaned teenager who has just been released from a children's home. She gets a job at a local department store where she meets Joe Ryder, who is also an orphan and works there as well. Their relationship starts off very slowly but soon blossoms into something more. The story will keep you guessing until the end of the book!
Brunswick Gardens is the first book in the Thomas and Charlotte Pitt series by Anne Perry. It follows Thomas and Charlotte Pitt as they are forced to investigate a murder case that is linked to one of their own family members.
