Bluesman, written by Andre Dubus III, is a novel about Warren Ballentine's journey of self-discovery.

Bluesman is a story about an unnamed protagonist and his life. He's a musician who plays in bars and clubs, but when one of his gigs doesn't go well, he begins to question everything he has ever done. The narrator's voice is easy to follow and the story is easy to digest as it switches back and forth between past memories and present circumstances.

The novel Bluesman is about a musician named Chris, who writes songs and makes them popular. After an accident, he still can't play his guitar. The story takes a turn when he meets another musician, Mr. Walker, who helps him get through his depression by learning blues music and composing more songs without playing guitar. When the two men finally decide to work together on their own album, it turns out that Mr. Walker might have ulterior motives for helping Chris.

For the past few years, I've been on the hunt for a new novel to become engrossed in. Then I found Andre Dubus's Bluesman. It was one of those stories that pulls you into reading it from the minute you open it. The writing is so detailed that I found myself captivated by this tale of true love and heartbreak. Not only do I enjoy reading about the intricacies of relationships, but I also suffer from depression, so this book really spoke to me.
