Before the Storm is a novel by Christie Golden in which a group of heroes known as adventurers must face the returning threat of old enemy and master criminal Jaina Proudmoore. The book starts with Jaina's return from exile and her inclusion into the ranks of the Horde. She joins forces with Thrall, Warchief of the Horde, to track down her brother, Prince Arthas Menethil who's been missing for six years.

When the high-pressure storm hits Azeroth, the Horde and Alliance are powerless to stop it. The Stormbringers, a group of nomadic pandaren, have guarded their homeland for centuries against the very storms that now threaten to destroy them. The pandaren have done their best to prepare for this storm, but time is running out. With powerful sorcery and new technology at their fingertips, it's up to them to save Azeroth from utter destruction and unite their people once again.

Before the Storm is a prequel to World of Warcraft and it's about the beginning of the first war between the Horde and Alliance. The story starts out with an introduction to Garona, who is a Half-orc and she befriends some of the other characters in this book. Right from the start, you'll find yourself enjoying this audiobook so much that you won't want to stop listening even when it ends.

"Before the Storm" is described as the prequel novel to "The Shattering", which was released in May of 2010. This novel covers the events that lead up to the Cataclysm, when Azeroth was shattered into pieces after being struck by a maelstrom of fel magic from a portal on its surface.
