The Appalachian Trail is the longest continuous hiking path in the world and has been featured in countless movies and TV shows. The book "Becoming Odyssa" follows the story of Jennifer Pharr Davis as she travels on the trail with her dog and a friend who is terminally ill.
The book tells the story of a woman on the Appalachian Trail, whose life was not just consumed by her loved ones. It is about career, relationships and self-discovery; but above all else, it is about how those who live more in life find more meaning in it. This is not an easy book to read, but it does have an uplifting and inspirational message for anyone who had ever dreamed of walking the Appalachian Trail.
`Becoming Odyssa: Adventures on the Appalachian Trail' is an amazing book about a woman who gained weight and then decided to take on the challenge of walking across America from Georgia to Maine, using nothing but her feet. The audiobook was narrated by the author herself and is easily one of the best books I have ever listened to.
Becoming Odyssa by Jennifer Pharr Davis is a non-fiction book about the author's journey from Atlanta to Damascus, Virginia on the Appalachian Trail. It is an adventurous memoir that tells of her physical, mental, and spiritual transformation from the stress of city life to going through what she calls an "internal transformation" on the trail.
Annika, a world-class treasure hunter, is determined to find the fabled sword of King Arthur's mythical kingdom of Avalon. But even the best laid plans can go awry when she discovers her latest target just happens to be her sister, who has been on Annika's trail since they were kids. As the siblings take their struggles into the wilds of Appalachia and encounter friends and foes alike, they're introduced to a realm that has nothing at all in common with their reality.
