Anatomy of a Scandal: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Sarah Vaughan
With a little over three years left until the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo, Team USA is already in hot water with the International Olympic Committee. The scandal so far is that their P.R. manager has been accused of sexually harassing the female members of the track and field coaching staff for two decades. Team USA's coach has taken leave to deal with these allegations but his wife, who took over coaching duties until he comes back, was also just sent home after being accused of sexual harassment as well.
A new story begins in the early years of the 1900's, when a young woman named Nell is accused of killing her husband with arsenic. Although she has no history of violence and seems to be a doting wife, Nell is found guilty and sentenced to hang as punishment for what she is assumed to have done. She stops her execution at the eleventh hour by professing her innocence, but the jailor is skeptical. The jailor knows that if someone were to die from arsenic poisoning, evidence would be found throughout their house; but so far, nothing. The jailor believes that this only proves that Nell was trying to kill her husband out of fear that he might discover where she got the money that he paid her because she couldn't work and support them both.
