An Irish Hostage: A Novel Free Audiobook Download by Charles Todd

This book, in the form of a novel, is about a group of friends who are kidnapped. Their captors are the IRA and their goal is for them to be released before the British authorities arrive. They are held hostage for 2 years and during that time they have to cooperate with each other and find ways of getting along. This is a very interesting story and I enjoyed listening to it as much as I enjoyed reading it.

Written by Charles Todd, An Irish Hostage is a story of Sean, an eleven-year-old boy who takes refuge from his family as they struggle with their country's bleak economic situation in England. When he and his father are captured by a group of terrorists one day before the school year begins, it is up to Sean to save not only himself, but his teacher and many others. The author's background as a military historian provides some interesting facts that would be difficult for any casual reader to predict.

An Irish Hostage: A Novel is a novel about the abduction of an American family and their experience in Ireland after the tragedy. The story begins with the protagonist, Tom, describing how he is taken hostage by a group of rebels who take him to Ireland from his homeland. Through this novel, readers learn about how Tom adapts to life as a rebel and what it means to be Irish and American.

Charles Todd's latest novel, An Irish Hostage, blends aspects of the detective and thriller genres. The story is told from the point of view of a hostage negotiator named Will Dunn with a criminal background. Dunn works for an organization called Mercenary Security Associates (MSA) which was founded by former military members. The first few lines of the novel are in beat-up syntax that makes it easy to follow, but as the story progresses it becomes clear that it is not just about negotiations and action sequences.

The story is set in 1874 and is told from the perspective of a wealthy woman named Mrs. Frayling. Her husband was killed while she is traveling with their son, Jacob, to visit her parents who have taken ill. They were ambushed by bandits and Jacob was kidnapped. Soon after, Mrs. Frayling learns that her son may still be alive and will do whatever it takes to get him back.

The story takes place in 1887 during the Fenian rising. The protagonist is Emmet Brennan, a young Irish American who was kidnapped and taken to Ireland by Michael Collins and his Irish Brigade in retaliation for the death of the English General Sir Harry Smith at the hands of an Irishman.
