There's a lot of high school drama to be found in Sarah Dessen's latest novel, Along for the Ride. The book is narrated by Rachel, who one day belatedly realizes that she has been friends with her best friend since childhood, Zoe, all along. They spend the summer together and before long their friendship evolves into something more significant--and potentially complicated--for both of them.

Along for the Ride is the story of a girl who has been removed from her whole life, forced to transfer schools by her mother. Bethany's mom thinks that the change will make Bethany happy, but it only makes her feel more lost and isolated. When she meets Sienna and her dad, she starts to think that maybe it doesn't have to be that way.

Sarah Dessen's novel of a high school senior who is just about to graduate, a mother and daughter who have moved back to town after many years away, and the teenagers who will be attending that high school in the fall. It's a quick read with some interesting questions about life as well as plenty of twists and turns.

This story is about two teenagers and their summer spent together. It includes grief, relationships and learning to forgive.

A few months ago, I downloaded the complete audiobook of Sarah Dessen's book Along for the Ride from Amazon. The book is about a sixteen year old girl who falls in love with her best friend's older brother and struggles to find herself while trying to deal with family issues and understanding the reasons why her parents sent her to boarding school. It's more of a coming-of-age story than a romance but I really enjoyed it!

Sarah Dessen is a author who has written novels about teenagers as they struggle to develop their own personalities and find their place in the world. Her writing tends towards the realistic, with characters who make mistakes and learn from them, but maintain a hopeful outlook. The narrator for Along for the Ride is Rachel Botchan, who captures all of these qualities in her performance.
