A Year at Castle Court Free Audiobook Download by Holly Hepburn
This is a wonderful book, written by Holly Hepburn in the form of a diary entry. The Author goes back and forth from her writing about what she does and how it feels, to her own feelings about that day and how it all changed for the worse.
"It opens with a strong sense of nostalgia for me. I pick up the book and make my way to the family rooms, to escape the original castle. It's actually quite sad that it's been transformed into an office complex."
An engrossing and beautifully written novel about the lives and loves of a group of young people at a London mental institution in the 1950s.
A Year at Castle Court is the first book in a series of books written by Holly Hepburn. The audiobook is narrated by Karen Cass, who does an excellent job of bringing life to the story. The listener goes on a journey with Holly as she struggles with her mother's cancer diagnosis and her own decision to stay in London or move back home to America.
This audiobook tells the story of Holly and her best friends as they experience first love, first heartbreak and coming-of-age during their final year at high school. It's beautifully written which is a rarity in YA fiction.
Karen Cass's narration is subtle, but it helps to get the full feel of the novel. There are a few audible pauses, and her voice sounds like she was reading it out of a book. The dialogue is natural and easy to follow, with few noticeable errors.
