In 'A Wicked Snow' Gregg Olsen uses a voice that is both smooth and deep. The story is told in short chapters that make it easy to listen to on your commute to work or any time you are looking for something quick and exciting.
Gregg Olsen's A Wicked Snow is a YA fantasy novel. It takes place in a world that has been invaded by witches and there are strict laws that keep witches in check. There are three kingdoms to choose from: the Empire, the Commonwealth and the Borderlands. When poor Maia finds herself homeless after her parents die, she goes to live with her aunt in the Borderlands. The people of the Borderlands have their own customs and beliefs about witchcraft which make them a little different from those of the Empire or Commonwealth. Shady characters, betrayal and lots of action make this an enjoyable read!
The Wicked Snow Audiobook Download is narrated by Karen Peakes, who gives life to the story and brings it to life in her own words. She has a wonderful voice that is easy to listen to and one that will keep you calm.
This is one of the best audiobooks I have ever listened to. It seems like it would be difficult to turn from a written work into an audiobook, but Gregg Olsen did an amazing job with his narration of this novel. The way he described the characters was easy to follow and at the same time very engaging. I would recommend this book for anyone who enjoys snow or cold weather stories.
It comes to no surprise that those of us living in aggressive, cold environments recognize Wicked Snow as yet another tale of a boy who's on the brink of becoming a man. In the story, Jack is forced out of his safe home and left to fend for himself in the wilderness with only his best friend and an old rifle for protection. The novel is told from Jack's point-of-view and he does a fantastic job of describing exactly what it felt like to be alone in the snow blind but never alone.
A Wicked Snow is one of my favorite stories by Gregg Olsen. It's a love story about a woman and a man who are both survivors of sexual abuse. The book is beautifully written, with well-developed characters that are complex and relatable. I also appreciate the fact that there is such an important message in this book without it being explicitly stated. It was an excellent audiobook that felt like I was listening to the author read it himself and adding his own voice to the novel.
