In the early 1800s, there was a man by the name of John Gwynne who lived in an isolated valley of what is now called North Wales. One evening, his daughter suddenly came to him and said she wanted to go outside. He told her that it was too dangerous because they were in a war zone. He went outside after her and found her dead, mutilated by a wolf.
To escape the doomsaying of the Harrowers, Gwynne left his home with his daughter to fight for his life. He comes across a large city and many strange creatures that are unlike anything he has ever seen before. Gwynne soon realizes that this is not any normal place, and that he may have found where the Harrowers are waiting for him.
A Time of Dread is set in the year of the Prince and it's full of action, magic, and wonder. It's an epic tale of warring kingdoms - a story for our times.
