From the beginning, we are drawn into Aria's story by her voice and by the powerful magic that she wields. This is not your typical YA novel with a love triangle and an easy ending; this is gritty, dark, and there is no guarantee you will find your happy ending. It deserves 5 stars for it's uniqueness, power, emotion and creativity!

Although there are many twists and turns in this book, the story has a clear-cut protagonist in Feyre - a girl who was once a normal girl but whose life changed when she ran away from her captors at the hands of the King's guards. Fiercely intelligent and stubbornly determined, she is one of the most interesting protagonists to come along in years.
