A Cold Dark Place Free Audiobook Download by Gregg Olsen
I was deeply touched by this book. It follows the love story of a young woman dealing with bipolar disorder and the man who helps her. It is a beautiful story filled with sorrow, but also hope and healing. I found it to be very relatable, even though I have never had issues with mental illness in my life.

A Cold Dark Place by Gregg Olsen became an instant classic when it was first published in 2009. It tells the story of a man who makes a pact with Death and is given the chance to relive his life, one day at a time from his childhood through to his adulthood in order to rescind the pact.
Gregg Olsen's new novel, A Cold Dark Place, was a hard read for me. I became so wrapped up in the story of Paul and Lucy that I lost myself in the work. In fact, when my husband asked me to read it aloud to him and our kids I opted not to because I couldn't wait to get back to the story. Karen Peakes and Jay Snyder did an excellent job with the read.
As winter approaches, a young orphan named Edwina is forced to leave her home. When she arrives at the cold and dark place where the children are supposed to stay to create warmth for the adults, she discovers that it's not so bad.
'Karen Peakes' narrates this audiobook from a child's point of view and it is a chilling story. The author brilliantly uses the simplest words to describe very complex images and feelings. This realistic fiction book has been compared to Neil Gaiman and it is quite understandable considering the author's background in writing horror books.
