Wrath of Empire Free Audiobook Download by Brian McClellan
Brian McClellan's new book, "Wrath of Empire", is out now! This series follows a young man named Brecken on his quest to dismantle the empire and find his long-lost brother. It's a thrilling story that has you turning pages until the very end.
Fantasy fiction author Brian McClellan has written many novels, but he also writes audiobooks. His latest book, "Wrath of Empire", is a fantasy novel that follows three people throughout their lives. The first is an orphan boy named Nick who's being trained to become a soldier in the upcoming war between the empire and rebels. The second is Threnody, a girl who's preparing for her initiation into the empire's army. And finally there's Mark, a young rebel trying to raise enough money to pay for his daughter's life-saving operation.
One of the most captivating things about this book is how it exemplifies the idea of “epic”. Often when you think of epic stories, you think of grand battles and daring quests. However, the story that unfolds in this novel seems to be less about grand battles and more focused on humanity. The protagonist, Garret, is living a humdrum life as a farmer when he discovers his family has been slaughtered by bandits. With nothing but vengeance on his mind and a talent for fighting, Garrett sets out to track down the bandits responsible for his family's death and kill them. Along with his friends who have also been personally affected by the bandits' crimes, Garrett begins to fight back against their master, trying to bring down an empire from the inside.
Brian McClellan's newest novel is about a soldier named Calder who is part of a group of people called 'pullers,' which are the only ones that can manipulate the power of storms. There is a war between two families, and the only way to win this war will be to kill one family member using the power of storms. Calder starts to fall in love with an enemy soldier and must decide if he will take actions that put her life in danger.
Christian Rodska is the narrator of "Wrath of Empire" and he brings a lot to the table with his performance. His narration is smooth, clear, and well paced. The emotions that he portrays in each scene are more than just reading words on paper; I feel like I'm living through this story with him.
When I first started this audiobook, I wasn't really sure what to expect. Would it live up to the hype? It did. This is a book by Brian McClellan that follows three characters in different time periods. Kip, a warden of the prison who's tasked with stopping a group of radicals from taking over the country; Kara, an elite fighter and woman who struggles with being told that she'll never have children because of her power; and Zain, a knight-turned-bandit who is forced out of his home due to war. The three characters are so well developed that they each take my mind on their own journeys to where I didn't know I wanted them to go.
