Wizard's Chance Audiobook Download by Eve Langlais
Claire's mom has just died. Their world has been shattered, but one thing that seems to hold it back from falling apart is the hope she convinces herself of: if she can make her mother proud enough, then she'll still be able to heal. But how could you heal when your mother is gone? When the people around you won't let you?
In a world where magic has been banned, the small village of High Hill has always prided itself on being free from the shackles of wizardry. The peace is shattered when a mysterious cloaked figure sets fire to their church, apparently killing its preacher and an elderly woman.
A tale of magic and mythical creatures, Wizard's Chance by Eve Langlais is a beautifully written story. The main character is an ordinary girl who finds herself in a land where she has to deal with fantastic creatures and magicians all while trying to figure out what's going on with her and her family.
Marie Smith, the protagonist of Eve Langlais's second novel, Wizard's Chance, is a talented and ambitious young woman who has worked hard to escape her home in the midst of a drought-ridden Colorado and make it to L.A. where she can find her place in the world.
The story starts out with us being introduced to the main characters, and what they are striving for. Having been in love before, and having had a child that died, our main character has become bitter and has put on a tough front. But after meeting a man named Vinnie he starts getting his life back on track again and finding happiness in other things.
