Wind in the Willows Free Audiobook Download by Kenneth Grahame

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame is a story about four animals who live on an idyllic riverbank. They love their life and their home, but everything changes when a fifth animal, Ratty, comes to the bank looking for some food. The other animals abandon their peaceful life for the unknown dangers of the city when they realize that Ratty is not just any old rat.

"Toad of Toad Hall" is a short tale about how Toad, Mole, Ratty and Badger were playing when they were suddenly interrupted by what sounded like a great wind through the wood. They ran to see what was happening, but instead found themselves sitting in the hollow where they had been playing. It was all an illusion of course, but it was so realistic that they agreed never to mention it again- except to their children, who would be told only that it was 'a story'.

This children's classic was first published in 1908. It tells the story of four children - Mole, Ratty, Badger and Toad - living in a time when it was believed that animals have no souls and live like humans do. They encounter many adventures on their way through the country.

In a recent blog post, it was written that "it's hard to find a book or audiobook that lives up to the story and characters" in the Wind in the Willows. With 20 hours of content over 6 individual parts, this is one of those books. The narrator does a great job of imagining all the characters and giving each one its own personality.

"Kenneth Grahame's classic book, Wind in the Willows, has been both a favorite of children and adults for generations. Now the pubic will be able to enjoy this wonderful classic through audiobook downloads narrated by David Thorn."

On the day of Toad's christening, he is given the name of Wind in the Willows by his godfather Rat, and he is never referred to by another name from then on. From that day forward, he is destined for great adventures with all the creatures of the forest - Mole, Badger, Otter and Rat.
