This is the first book in Patricia Briggs's Mercy Thompson series, which is one of my favorite urban fantasy series. I can't speak highly enough about this audiobook. I love that it's narrated by the author, and he does a wonderful job of bringing her characters to life!

The story starts with a bang as a wolf-shifter is attacked and killed by a mother grizzly bear. The Bear Kin's Sheriff, Lucas Black attempts to find the killer while dealing with the disappearance of his wife and child years ago. When he discovers that the grizzly bears have taken his daughter, she's gone feral, he has to do whatever it takes to save her.
