I have a confession to make. I'm not the type of reader who spends hours planning out my day chapters and chapters in advance; rather, I'm the type of reader that lets life happen to me. So it was natural for me to be completely taken aback when I found out Sawyer Bennett's latest release, Van, was narrated by Cris Dukehart and Graham Halstead. When I found it, I decided to give it a try. It had been so long since I read an audiobook that I wasn't quite sure what would happen if this one didn't work for me. To my surprise, it did. And then some!

Van is a romance that tells the story of a man with unshakable determination as he goes head to head with his best friend, who's also his partner in crime. Grappling with the past and desperately trying to make something of himself, Van finds himself in a dark place and ready to give up when one day on the way to work he meets the woman who will change everything. From there things get real for both of them and it all begins to unravel.

A Summer's Escape by Sawyer Bennett is the most riveting audiobook I have ever listened to. Cris Dukehart and Graham Halstead are perfect narrators for the story with their pacing and realism. The characters of Violet, Carter, and Tyler all appear complex while they remain emotionally grounded in a setting that reflects the reality of modern romance. It is refreshing to see a love story become so real and it is even more satisfying seeing this story end with a happy (albeit different) ending than many other books on love.

If you are looking for a story that will make your pulse race, get Van by Sawyer Bennett. Van is the story of a woman who is determined to stand up for herself and fight back against a dangerous stalker. I've never read a story by Sawyer Bennett, but I was lucky enough to get an advance copy of her new book and I loved it! The story is told from the perspective of two guys - one white, one black - who have never been friends until they break into the other's home. There are some very hot scenes in this book that will make your skin shiver, coupled with lots of suspenseful moments that keep you guessing what's going to happen next.
