The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant Free Audiobook Download by Drew Hayes
Fred, the Vampire Accountant is an affectionate tribute to a genre of fiction that is quickly becoming extinct in today's world: the hilarious and bizarre horror story. As cliche as it sounds, this book contains plenty of laughs for adult horror fans.
In the audiobook, 'Fred' is a vampire accountant who talks about his mundane day to day life and struggles of being bored in the office. I found that this book was a funny, short and easy read with a little bit of blood thrown in. This book is not for everyone, but for those who want a quick laugh and something easy to listen to during their commute home from work.
Fred, the Vampire Accountant is narrated by Kirby Heyborne and is full of puns and jokes. The book starts off with Fred being told he has a job at an accounting firm that is turning profit but doesn't have much company culture. He pushes for perks such as blood drive to make up for it, even though his boss isn't too keen on the idea. Eventually, Fred gets his way when vampires come into the picture and it becomes more interesting. Then, vampire culture spreads throughout the entire company, making everyone unhappy and causing chaos.
With a title like this, what else could you possibly want? There's no way that I can review a work with such an unbelievably uninteresting title. And yet, I still read it.
Fred, the Vampire Accountant is a darkly comic tale of office life. After having been turned into a vampire, Fred's sense of humor is twisted as he learns how not to be boring. His human coworkers are drawn from familiar types: the tyrannical boss, the negligent colleague, and so on. Their antics provide much-needed relief for those who work in cubicles.
Fred is a mousy, boring accountant who has been working at the same job for decades. He's got the same daily routine, the same boss, and even the same cubicle. One day he finds out that he's actually a vampire! The rest of his life changes in an instant when he realizes how much more exciting things can be if he embraces his new identity as a blood-sucking fiend.
