"The Thief: A Novel of the Black Dagger Brotherhood" is a great book. The story starts off with a young woman, Beth Randall, trying to find her birth parents. That's how she found out she is on the True half of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. Once she was accepted into their family, they trained her in fighting and took her to be with them on their next mission. All goes well until she meets Wrath (the leader of the BDB) and he takes her heart. She decides to escape this life but not without a trail of blood, pain and betrayal.

If you are a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, this is a must-read. If you're looking for another book to indulge in, other than the original series, then this is also a good choice. It's not an audiobook that I would recommend listening to in the car because there are frequent noises and sounds from each location mentioned.

I was so immersed in the world created by J.R. Wards that I didn't want to leave it again. This audiobook version is narrated by Jim Frangione and provides a wonderful experience for those who love audiobooks, but also want to indulge in a book that you can close your eyes and visualize.
