The Tank Killers: A History of America's World War II Tank Destroyer Force Free Audiobook Download by Harry Yeide

The United States fought World War II with a huge arsenal of tanks and armored vehicles, some of which were called tank destroyers. However, the Tank Destroyer force was created to combat tanks that had already been knocked out by infantry or other means. The first tank destroyers were not even in use when the war started. The idea for the Tank Destroyer Unit came from British General Percy Hobart who outlined his vision for this type of fighting unit in January 1941.

The Tank Killers: A History of America's World War II Tank Destroyer Force by Harry Yeide is a study of the U.S. tank destroyer force during the 1940s, which grew from just a few hundred tanks to tens of thousands by VE Day. The book is well-researched and includes extensive interviews with many commanders and American tank destroyer veterans, at least one of whom served in the Army's Combat Command B during the campaign that liberated several concentration camps during the war.

The Tank Killers is an historical account of the development and use of the tank destroyer throughout the Second World War. The book focuses on the United States' efforts to develop and employ an anti-tank weapon, taking into account its history of this type of weaponry. America had been developing a tank destroyer force internationally since World War I with little success due to their tanks being bigger than those they were trying to defeat. This changed when Germany began using smaller, more maneuverable tanks in France in 1940.

Bob Souer is the narrator of this audiobook. He is a retired tank commander after serving during World War II in North Africa, Europe, and North Korea. This particular book is about American tank destroyers. It tells the story of how they were first developed and what they did during World War II.

In The Tank Killers, author Harry Yeide explains the history of the tank destroyer force. It was made up of a company of men who were assigned to destroy tanks and the tank destroyer force was an army-level unit. By the end of World War II, U.S. had more than 30 000 men in service with 13 battalions. Their first mission was on D-Day where they became one of the most important weapons in WWII.

A well-written, interesting audiobook about the history of America's World War II Tank Destroyer Force. The narrator did a good job as he made sure to keep his voice neutral and not make it sound too dramatic or embellished. I also enjoyed how he was able to use different accents and give each character a unique personality which made them more realistic.
