The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy Free Audiobook Download by Jeanne Birdsall

The Penderwicks' adventure begins when their parents leave them with their aunt in a small town for the summer. They soon meet two new near-neighbor friends, whom they grew up playing with in the country.

The Penderwicks is an exciting story that will take you away to the countryside of New England. The story follows four sisters named Jane, Beth, Margalo, and Margo as they spend their summer vacation in a beautiful house. The girls have fun while they learn life lessons while they are on vacation with their beloved Mrs. Josephine Penderwick and her friend Mr. Harold Lambreth.

The Penderwicks is a wonderful, heart-warming story about four sisters that live in the summer cottage of their aunt and uncle. The family comes back from a long absence to find out that they have moved away and left their house to the next generation. The sisters are confused as to why they no longer have a home, but still enjoy spending time together at their new cottage. They've come up with many different ideas for what kind of person might own the house such as aliens, ghosts, or even pirates!

I loved this book. There's a lot going on, but it all works because of the characters. The thing I liked best was that it's told in first person from the point of view of four sisters. They're each strong and individual but they also work together and support each other against the boys in their lives.

The Penderwicks are four sisters who live a great life in upstate New York with their widower father, a yard full of animals, and their vivid imaginations. Having spent their summers at The Meadows and on their childhood home, they are used to the summertime routine of helping their father around the farm. On this particular summer, though, something changes. The girls notice that one particular boy has been coming around and spending time on the farm nearly every day, but they don't know who he is or what he's doing there. This is when the Penderwick sisters discover how interesting life can be when you're a kid.

And here is the first audiobook book I have ever reviewed. It was a delightful story and one that I thoroughly enjoyed listening to. The narrator, Susan Denaker, did an excellent job of keeping all four characters separate and distinct, while at the same time making them sound like they were all speaking English. This was a great story for listening to on my daily walks this summer.
