The House That Wasn't There Free Audiobook Download by Elana K. Arnold
The House That Wasn't There is a novel that takes place in the Philippines during World War II where the story is about an American pearl diver named Jack and a woman named Dovie who comes to his rescue. The story is based on a true story of three friends from WWII.
"In the beginning, there was nothing and it was good." This adage is often quoted in order to summarize the beginning of time. There was no sky, no water, and just a mass of grayish gray. Slowly but surely, as clouds started to form above and life within the waters below began to burst forth, things were getting better. This is how it always starts out--only for them to get much worse before they start again.
'Ramon De Ocampo' performs a masterful narration. He nails the voice of the protagonist and makes you feel what she is feeling every step of her journey. This audiobook has just been released for purchase so now is the perfect time to get your hands on it!
If you are looking for something unique and fresh, as well as a story that will keep you guessing until the very end, I recommend this book.
In "The House That Wasn't There," Ramon De Ocampo tells the story of a house that seems to have come out of nowhere. The protagonist, Bella, is living with her father in a small town in Canada. One day, as she was walking home from school, she saw that the house across from theirs had fallen into rubble. It had been an old and unused building for about a year before that. When she takes a closer look at it, she sees that there are strange symbols etched on the ground outside. She starts to wonder what these symbols mean and how she can get inside the now-destroyed building without anyone noticing and without ruining their lives by doing so.
Ramon De Ocampo is a sound engineer who constantly gets mistaken for the famous actor, Ramon De Ocampo. When his wife suddenly leaves him and buys a house that she found online without telling him, he has to figure out how to get her to give it back. It's only when he brings this issue with him to his job at Studio 360 that he finds help from an unlikely ally in Jane Prentiss - the new editor-in-chief of American Photo Magazine.
