"Be careful, Mrs Darlington!" It was a warning too late. Annabelle had already given the housekeeper her warning and now she was paying for it. As if by magic, the shadows in the long, dark hallways seemed to gather and deepen around them. For an instant, she thought that she might be able to run out into the garden and escape those dreadful sounds of footsteps plodding behind her. But then the chill of fear caught hold of her again and seized upon her heart...
This is a story of a man coming to terms with his own ghosts. It's a story about learning the hard way that evil is real. So, too, are those things which we try to flee from--pain, regret and death. "The Haunting of Beacon Hill" does not shy away from these realities, nor does it merely offer an insightful look into them. It takes us on an emotional journey as well, one which will haunt readers for days after they finish listening to this novel.
