The Crossover Free Audiobook Download by Kwame Alexander

The Crossover is a story about two young friends and basketball players from Harlem, who are apart of the same team. They share many different experiences, but when one of them gets picked up by a professional basketball team in Europe, their friendship is tested to its limits. Basketball is one of the main themes throughout this story as it signifies success in life, something many people can relate to.

The story follows two young African Americans, Amir and Malcolm. Amir is a girl who has always felt different in her neighborhood and even among her peers. She spends most of her time reading about the problems of the world and dreaming about being a revolutionary. Malcolm is a boy whose family is struggling to escape poverty and he constantly joins gangs to make money. When they meet, their worlds take on a new meaning.

This is a story of two dimensional beings, and how their worlds collide. Kimberly and Mina are the only two children on Earth who have managed to escape their dimension, the Cloud. Kimberly has spent her life in hiding from the Cloud, having inherited an ability from her father and mother that lets them see beyond the confines of their world. Mina is a prisoner in the Cloud because she can't abide by it's laws. The two girls must learn to work together to save themselves and any other humans who might be trapped in the Cloud.

This is a great book for teens, tweens, and early high schoolers. It is told as a series of letters between an aspiring basketballer, Amari Banks, and his big brother Ra-Shaun who has just been drafted by the Boston Celtics. The goal of the book is to inspire young readers to believe in themselves and work hard for their dreams.

The Crossover is a story about Kwame Alexander's personal journey through basketball. It starts with his first game in the NBA, then goes on to explain his rise up the ranks and eventually into becoming an All-Star, while still playing on the same court where he made his debut. He also discusses how he started as a point guard, but how he slowly moved towards being a shooting guard who would learn how to take over games or even lead teams.
