Temptation's Darling Free Audiobook Download by Johanna Lindsey

Temptation's Darling is the first in Johanna Lindsey's Tempted Series. It tells the story of a man who has been married to his wife for over 25 years and has three children. When he suddenly finds himself attracted to Victoria, the sister-in-law of his best friend, he finds himself tempted to act on what he feels.

In 1820, the Duke of Nell is engaged to Jaxon Wexford, a wealthy and handsome man, who she has never met. When they arrive at his estate in London, he tells her that he was forced to marry her against his will by Lady Charlotte. But then when she arrives there, she finds out that the Duke of Nell is actually a marquis and not a duke or an earl. Now they have a huge problem because the wedding cannot be called off so if they keep it on schedule, they'll be publicly shamed before all of society.

The story revolves around the renowned heiress, Chrissy (Christine) Marchant, and her privileged life in London. Christine is wealthy, beautiful, and has everything she could ever want. Except a handsome husband. Christine is accustomed to getting what she wants- or at least that's how she sees it- no matter who gets hurt. However, when the heir to a vast estate enters into an arrangement with her father for some insurance money, Chrissy realizes there's more to life than her own happiness.

It's been a while since I read this classic romance. It's one of my favorites and I've always had a soft spot for the story of a woman who is tempted by riches but ends up finding true love in an old-fashioned way. The attraction between Elizabeth and Miles was undeniable from the first moment they met, but their individual motives for being together make for an interesting story.
