Tarkin is a retelling of the events of Star Wars by James Luceno. Many of the events are narrated by Moff Tarkin, who we learn is part of the late Emperor Palpatine's inner circle. I was delighted to find out that on Audible, there was an audiobook download narrated by Euan Morton, which was lovely to listen to.

In Star Wars: Tarkin, James Luceno tells the story of how Grand Moff Tarkin became the commander of the First Order. When he unexpectedly becomes a dictator and takes control of Alderaan, his birth world, "the wisest" found it all quite easy to cope with. However, when life on Alderaan becomes intolerable under his reign and it is revealed that he has killed his own wife and children during the takeover, Tarkin reels from the emotional assault.

[Euan Morton] narrates Tarkin: Star Wars just as well as he narrates any other audiobook. He is able to bring the listener into all of the action, giving it the feeling that they are in the story. There is some inflection and modification so that the narrator can tell which character is speaking by changing his tone. The narration of this book was done very well and overall, it would be worth downloading this audiobook for anyone who loves Star Wars.

Darth Vader's most trusted aide, the Grand Moff Tarkin is at the heart of the Empire. Author James Luceno tells Emperor Palpatine's story in both new and familiar ways with this audiobook. With a new perspective, readers will experience the way that Tarkin views the events of the Galactic Civil War.

In this long-awaited adaptation of the blockbuster novel by James Luceno, we follow the career of Imperial Information Minister Wilhuff Tarkin as he rises in the ranks of the Empire. Tarkin has a personal code of ethics, and he believes that Jedis are no better than droids: indestructible and soulless. After all, how can someone be noble when they have no soul? This tale is full of action and suspense but also provides fascinating insights into Tarkin's character.
