Someone to Care by Mary Balogh is a historical romance novel set in the Regency era. The story follows Lady Christine, who lives with her widowed father after the death of her mother. As they grow closer, Christine discovers that there are many things about this man that can break her heart-from his secrets, his past, and the fact that he may not be all he appears to be.

Jane Bennet, nineteen-year-old orphan, is taken in by the wealthy Mrs. Hughes and invited to live as her companion. Though she doesn't know it at the time, Jane's situation will change her life.

The story of a woman who is the last of her family and must find someone to care for her when she comes into an inheritance. This is one of my favorite audiobooks, and I highly recommend it!

Mary Balogh's "Someone to Care" is a delightful and fun historical romance. The heroine of the story is an impoverished English maid, who has lived in constant fear of her employer for over twenty years. She finally summons up the courage to abandon her post, only to find herself a penniless and homeless waif in Regency England. When she meets a handsome stranger who helps her find work as a governess, they quickly fall in love, giving themselves hope that they can avoid the fate of their families.
