Shadow of the Hegemon is a fast-paced and harrowing thriller that brings to life an extremely well done audiobook by Orson Scott Card. The narrator, David Birney, has a very recognizable voice that makes him perfect for this sci-fi book. Gabrielle De Cuir also does justice to her role as narrator because her voice is soothing and hypnotic. This audiobook is one of the best books I've ever listened too and it's easy to see why so many people like it so much.

In the beginning of a new century, the United States is approaching its busiest time. The American economy grows and reaches its full potential, but at the same time new technologies are becoming popular that could change the world forever. A young scientist creates a machine that allows people to view events on Earth from any part of the globe. A man from Australia sees an assassination in the US and starts a war to make America fall apart. He is only stopped by a group of children who manage to save America from this man's plans with their advanced technology.
