Laural Merlington, the narrator of this audiobook, has a voice that makes one feel at ease and in the moment. It's not too deep or too high, but is just right for the story. Merlington does an excellent job of capturing the emotion and personality of each character and giving them life. The transitions are smooth, without any abrupt changes in tone or pitch that can make listening to audiobooks difficult at times. She does have a tendency to do a lot of pausing between sentences which is common during narration, but it doesn't take away from her performance overall.
