A young girl's dreams of a life among the stars come true when she is selected to go live on a huge space station orbiting Earth. The only problem is, she has to leave her family behind. The girl befriends an alien and must learn to trust in order for their friendship - and the bond between two children from different worlds - not to suffer.
In the year 2047, humanity has been taken over by aliens. The world has been devastated, and human life is extinct. However, there are a few humans left that have managed to escape the planet in time – and they’re now on a mission to Earth. One of these survivors is Michael Cooper. An avid explorer, he was able to escape on his spaceship before everything went wrong back home. His ship crashed near an abandoned city at one end of the globe while he barely escaped with his life. Ten years later, he's still alive and hungry for revenge against those who destroyed his home planet and killed billions of people.
"Return to Sol: Star Rise" is the story of a world on the brink of war and desperate for hope. It is set in the near future, where humans must work alongside machines to survive.
Return To Sol: Star Rise is a science fiction fantasy romance novel by M. D. Cooper and is narrated by the author's pen name, Cris Dukehart. The book follows two people who find themselves in an extraterrestrial reality on a mission to find their way back home.
The narrator, Cris, starts her journey on Earth as the first ship to reach the newly discovered planet. Her goal is to help those living on Sol, but they have a lot of trust issues with humans because of our reputation for destruction and war. The natives believe in reincarnation and when their view of Earth changes, so does their view of each other. Cris is sent to find the last few survivors who still believe in Terran beings and use their technology as a guide. She has to keep up with Sol's ever changing landscape through a series of encounters with both human and non-human lifeforms while trying to figure out what it means to be human.
Cris Dukehart's narration is as close to perfect as a narrator can get. She has a friendly and eloquent tone that puts you on the edge of your seat. Her voice is delightfully soothing and relaxing, even when she's telling you about some really scary things happening to her during the story.
