Pass of Fire Free Audiobook Download by Taylor Anderson
Pass of Fire is the first in a series of novels written by Taylor Anderson. This gripping tale is told from the perspective of a high-ranking member of a firefighting squad tasked with protecting one city and its residents. When the humans struggle to contain an inferno, they have to call on the team's strange new nemesis--a race of intelligent birds--to save humanity.
The Pass of Fire audiobook is an intense and gripping thriller that never lets up. The story follows the protagonist, John Dufresne, a man who has been left to die in the desert. To make matters worse, he was betrayed by his wife and children who had all just disappeared into thin air. With little food or water, John must figure out how to survive in the vast desert before he dies of thirst.
It's an easy to follow story of a soldier on a mission to recover the stolen bodies of an American colonel and his men. The soldier, 'Lackey' is looking for two missing corpses. He has no idea what he will find at the end but he knows it will be something horrific.
Pass of Fire is a novel that takes place in the near future, when there are three separate wars raging simultaneously. However, humanity has been divided into four classes: the Reclamationers, who fight to reclaim land from the earth; the Engineers, who struggle to build and maintain a society; the Guardians, who hunt and kill Reclamators for their resources; and those that live shrouded in mystery.
William Dufris narrated the audiobook for this book and did a fabulous job, making the story come alive. He is able to capture each character's personality and make it easy to distinguish who is speaking at any given time. The way he read, I could imagine the scenes unfolding in front of me as if I were watching them on screen.
Pass of Fire is a great addition to the series! I love how it has all of the suspense that I love, but also a new twist. Pass of Fire continues on with the adventure and mystery that Taylor Anderson has brought us. The way he switches between multiple perspectives is impeccable and keeps you enthralled in each storyline. A lot of people seem to agree with me that William Dufris does an incredible job at portraying Levi as a man who is lost, but never giving up hope on his loved one.
