With the war over, the survivors of YGGDRASIL now live in a new world that is not their own. With no direction to turn to, they are free to go about their lives in peace until one day, mysterious keys begin appearing. Soon enough, players from other worlds start arriving and the various players must each fight to survive and reclaim what was lost.

This second volume of Overlord with the Dark Warrior as the main protagonist is a great follow up to the first. It is so much more action packed and doesn't have a lot of downtime that made me feel like I was listening to two different books. It's a much needed change from the first volume, which ended on such a huge cliffhanger!

Tiberius returns to the capital city of the Empire, where he is met by an unwelcome surprise: his father, Ozymandias. When a mysterious woman named Fortuna intervenes in the debate between Tiberius and Ozymandias, she reveals that the war is not over yet...

"OVERLORD, VOL. 2: DARK WARRIOR! After finally escaping the Empire's clutches, Kyo submits himself to an experimental procedure that offers the chance of a lifetime - his very own bodyguard...

The second volume in Kugane Maruyama's "Overlord" series is a fast-paced, full-blooded piece of work. The audiobook, narrated by Chris Guerrero (translating for both Japanese and English), is well crafted with no noticeable hiccups.

Overlord, Vol. 2: The Dark Warrior is the second installment of a series of light novel written by Kugane Maruyama and illustrated by so far, two artists. Unlike the first volume which was about Ainz Ooal Gown, this one is about Momonga, who has become overlord of Nazarick after defeating the other four Elder Liches. Now that he's in charge, Momonga has to deal with different issues from fighting against invasions from the outside world to dealing with his new staff members who have their own agendas for being there.
