While there, she meets friends and makes new ones, until she realizes things are not what they seem. One day, Jemima finds herself in a strange place called the 'Pit', where humans who have lost everything go and try to survive until their death.

Soon after arriving on the West Coast, she did voiceover work for audiotapes that were used by therapists and doctors treating children with autism.
