Mattimeo Free Audiobook Download by Brian Jacques

Part of the 'Redwall' series, Mattimeo is an audiobook that you will want to listen to over and over again. This particular audiobook is narrated by Brian Jacques himself, who is incredibly talented at making all the characters come to life in your head. If you are a fan of this series, then this book is for you!

In the far north of the kingdom, a city is under siege. The last great heroic warrior, Mattimeo, is fighting to save his people from the invasion of an enemy he knows nothing about. All that stands between him and certain doom are his wife, Gwyna; their young son, Sorr; and two friends: the old warrior Shandakor, who carries the ancient sword; and Willum. Whilst Mattimeo fights for their safety in a desperate battle of life and death, there's a force more deadly than any soldier within this city: the Plague-Worms - which are controlled by Lady Rokea herself!

With the help of a map, Mattimeo is setting out to find his brothers and fulfill a prophecy that he’ll save all of Brigadoon from the clutches of evil. But it won’t be easy: Brigadoon is protected by magic that only one in every generation can overcome, and Mattimeo doesn’t even know how to read.

Children remember their favorite tales often and the classic Mattimeo is one of those. Finding the download link for this audiobook on Audible was a complete surprise and I'm glad I did it. The narrator made it come to life, bringing the characters to life and adding a sense of fun to the story. It's well worth the $3 AUD!

In this audiobook, you will be entertained by a cast of many voices. You'll hear Brian Jacques talking to himself as he narrates the story of Mattimeo's quest against the evil Lady Luggard and her demon armies.

"The story is simple. A young prince sets out to recover his stolen sword and bring it back to the castle, where he’ll be crowned king. But no one in the kingdom seems to want him for their ruler." Using a cast of over 30 narrators, this audiobook has a wide range of voices that you can enjoy from beginning to end. This audiobook won AudioFile Earphones Award for Best Audiobook in 2007 and was nominated for the Audie Awards in 2008.
