Kafka and the Doll Free Audiobook Download by Larissa Theule

Kafka is a doll with mutable properties. She's no ordinary doll because her creator passed her every night to a different person in the house. This allows the reader to see and experience many perspectives, as they switch days and lifetimes. They can also hear the perspective of Kafka herself, who is deeply concerned with being taken care of and loved even though she knows that there is no one who will ever be able to take care of her.

Kafka, who has a gift for telling the most piercing of stories, writes this macabre story in an attempt to understand his own fear and guilt. It takes the form of a hauntingly beautiful and emotionally compelling tale that brilliantly captures the zealous absurdity of moral absolutes and their inevitable unravelling.

Kafka and the Doll by Larissa Theule is a beautifully written story that follows the life of a doll over a period of time. As the reader follows the doll's journey, they learn about the struggles that people face in their life. While reading this book, listeners will feel like they are watching someone else's life unfold.

This audiobook is told in a very visceral way. It's almost like a horror story but it's told in a both haunting and captivating way. I can't say that this book lived up to the hype, because it missed its mark for me--but I think it's worth a read for some of the concepts that are discussed.

Kafka, the main character in the book, is a modern day refugee. He has been living with his mother and father in one of the many refugee camps that have sprung up in Europe since World War II. His parents are struggling to find work, and Kafka is content to just watch TV most days. One day he finds a toy doll buried deep under a pile of other dolls at the side of their tent. From then on, Kafka's life changes immensely as he seeks out answers about the doll and how it came to be there...

Kafka and the Doll is a story of love, loss, and isolation. The author Larissa Theule tells the tale of a married couple who sit down to have dinner after a long day of work. However, their dinner becomes a nightmarish journey into their own private hell.
