Diana Wynne Jones tells the story of a boy named Cas who finds himself in a house that is full of doors. He's always wanted to know more about the history of this house and what lies beyond, but he never has the opportunity until he finds himself trapped in it. With each door that Cas opens, he finds a new adventure that takes him across space and time.

Over the years, Diana Wynne Jones has used so many different formats to tell a story in her books. For example, 'The Field of Air' was written as a PowerPoint presentation. In 'House of Many Ways', she uses the first-person narrative and turns the listener into protagonist Jenny Sterlin. The narrator does not have any knowledge of what will happen next and is left on a journey to find out what exactly happened at the House and why people have disappeared from it over time.

Meet the Bluejay, a blue barn owl who is on a quest to finish building his nest. He has three other friends in tow: the Fox, the Mouse, and the King's Daughter. Together they set out on a journey that takes them across magical lands of elf and ogre to find what they're looking for, an elusive little bird that can fly.

The book of Merry Gentry is a fantastic fantasy novel that has won numerous awards and is one of Diana Wynne Jones's most memorable works. Jenny Sterlin, who narrates the audiobook version of the novel, does an amazing job with the book.
