Home Plate Free Audiobook Download by Christina Lee
Home Plate by Christina Lee is a beautifully written novel that follows two teens' relationship, their families and the obstacles they face. When the characters first meet they are both struggling to find themselves. By moving in together, they both find love and support in one another despite all of the drama that comes with it. The audiobook is narrated by two different voices which allows you to get a feel of how each character feels about their situation and what they're feeling on any given day.
Anna Tjioe had her whole life planned out. She was going to be a professional wrestler and then she would come home. That is until her father, who raised her single-handedly, has his cancer diagnosis. Fate throws Anna a curve ball when in ways she never saw coming, it's revealed that she was adopted and not just by two parents but four! After many twists, turns and mistakes, Anna learns about herself and the love for family that has always been there for her waiting.
Iggy Toma's narration is absolutely brilliant and flawless. The voice acting is top notch and really enhances the plot of the story. Kale Williams did a great job as well in terms of mimicking Iggy's voice, but he didn't have that same cultural-specific tone that Toma had.
When Christina Lee's parents force her to leave their house, Jenna Ritter has no idea where to go. Her dad was just killed and her mom left town, so she decides to find shelter at the ballpark where she and her dad used to spend time together. There she meets Jake, a goofy guy who can't believe his luck when he realizes that she is the new owner of the Atlanta Braves.
This was an amazing audiobook. I loved the story line, and how they were able to make it so detailed. I highly recommend this audiobook to anyone who is interested in baseball or crime stories in general.
Home Plate is the story of an immigrant family's struggles in the 1950s when they move from China to California. The story spans several years and shows how the protagonist, Henry Lee, adapts to life in America. He leaves his old family and friends behind when he comes to America, but the struggles they face are similar to his own.
