This is a captivating story about a young girl who is having a rough time in her life and makes a wish to have pugs. Because she had never seen pictures of pugs before she made the wish, she didn't know what to expect when she was given two dogs- one male and one female. Over time the reader can watch as their bond grows stronger- creating a warm and comfortable bond that will make anyone smile.

'Em Eldridge' is a young woman who has always loved animals. One day, she was walking her dog down the street when a pug ran out of the front door of an apartment building and came running towards her. The pug seemed to be in pain, scared, and confused. Em put her hand out to try and comfort him and the dog jumped into her arms in trust. The next day, another pug was found on the same street with a badly injured leg. The owner wanted Em to take care of him while they were gone on vacation but he didn't want any money for it.

This was a cute story. I liked the main character and the dog. It was sweet, but it had a bit of an unrealistic ending. The whole book has like 7 chapters, so maybe it's just that the author couldn't write more.
