Frightful's Mountain Free Audiobook Download by Jean Craighead George
"Frightful's Mountain" is a children's book by the late Jean Craighead George. It is the last book about the Tar Beach girls, Frightful and her sisters, in New York City and their adventures in Maine.
A splendid adventure filled with suspense and danger! A fascinating mountain and a talking young grizzly bear abound in adventure. Remembering what he had learned from his human family, Frightful teaches his cubs the essential skills they will need to survive.
The book begins in the summer when Frightful is a young eagle, soon to be on his own in the big world. He's visited by Stormy, a red-tailed hawk who teaches him about life, love, and being an eagle. As he grows into adulthood, he meets other birds and learns more about the world from them. One day he falls in love with Shadow, she has different ideas than he does, but they find common ground and true companionship in their relationship.
There's an old craggy mountain, and there's a valley on the other side of the mountain. And there's a girl there, who's been waiting for her daddy to come home from fishing, but he can't seem to find his way across the mountain.
The loveable bear cub, Frightful, lives in the forested mountains of Pennsylvania. After a hungry fox steals his dinner, Frightful is determined to outwit him and get it back. But soon he learns that some challenges are easy to overcome- and others are not! Narrated by Jeff Woodman.
