Flight of the Old Dog is a military science fiction novel written by Dale Brown, first published in 1996. The book is set in a future where the United States has entered an alliance with Eurasia to battle one of their common enemies, the powerful and ruthless Chinese Empire. Against this backdrop, the US Aerospace Command introduces a new surveillance satellite which allows them to track all fighter jets within view of the Earth and eventually harnessing this technology to create something unexpected - a highly-efficient combat wing which can fly undetected and outside human range. In other words, a "flying wing".

"Flight of the Old Dog" is the seventh book in Dale Brown's "Sociological Thriller" series. It starts with a retired Air Force Colonel, who has failed to find any employment after his combat duties were over, being recruited by the United States Government and getting involved in covert operations to take down terrorist organizations. He soon discovers there is more at stake than just protecting America. In the United States, political power has been usurped by one person and a plot to destroy the free world is underway.

After a long layoff, Brown returns to the action with this epic tale of intrigue, adventure and heroism.
