"Deep and Dark and Dangerous" by Mary Downing Hahn is one of the best stories I've listened to in a long time. It's fascinating and keeps you on your toes as it progresses. This story is described as being from the point of view of 12-year old Holly, who has been left alone for the summer with her father, who works for NASA. The Gables are a well-to-do family that has lived in Elsinore for decades, but has recently moved away to a new house because of the presence of menacing creatures around their house. Holly was still adjusting to this new station in life when she starts having nightmares about her mother being abducted.

"It was the darkest, deepest, and most dangerous part of the forest." So begins an exciting tale. Rachel Dulude narrates this story about a girl named Maddie who goes on an adventure with her friends and discovers a secret cave. But in order to find it they have to go deep into the dark and dangerous part of the forest which leads them further into danger.
