Damia's Children Free Audiobook Download by Anne McCaffrey

Main Characters: Damia, Sula End of the world with it's disasters and wars left Earth in a state of chaos. With no leaders or law to uphold, people live on their own as best they can. One group is called the Guardians. They are united in their desire to protect each other and protect the planet. The Guardians have many different factions that fight from time to time but at the core they work together for the protection of humanity.

The book is a sequel to another audiobook, Dragonrider. This sequel was quite different from the first version in that it took place on Earth instead of Pern. The main character is a boy named Damia who runs away from his home after very bad things happen there. He gets lost and eventually makes it to Earth, where he discovers he has special mental powers.

The story follows Damia, a powerful telepath and her children. They are legendary and special people who are scattered across the galaxy. One day, one of their own is kidnapped. The kidnappers have no intention to return them to their family or friends and they may never be found again.

For some time now, it has been ingrained in me that science fiction and fantasy stories need to be listened to instead of read. There's just something about listening to a book in your mind's ear that makes the imagination feel like it's on steroids. This is particularly true when you're reading something like Anne McCaffrey's Damia's Children or George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones--two of my favorite series, by the way--which really need to be experienced as an audio book.

Damia's Children is a science fiction novel by Anne McCaffrey set in the future about a planet where humans and aliens coexist on Earth. The narrator of this audiobook is Jean Reed Bahle.
