I had heard of Lainey Reese but I never read any of her books before. Her Damaged Goods was an audiobook, so I decided to give it a shot. I absolutely loved it! The book takes a realistic look at the many ways people try to sabotage relationships. It is told from Christian's perspective and he is relatable and funny throughout the entire book.

Damaged Goods is a love story but also a gripping thriller. The narrator, Christian Fox, has a way of making an already scary situation scarier and more suspenseful. There's this scene in Damaged Goods that isn't quite as memorable because it's just after one of the most significant moments in the story, but I still remember it vividly. It's when Lainey gets into a car accident and she wakes up to find herself strapped to a bed with IVs going into her arm.
