Crank is a young adult novel written by Ellen Hopkins. It tells the story of a 15 year old named Amy who's been struggling with mental health and self-harm for four years. One night her older sister makes an anonymous call to the police after she notices that Amy has been cutting herself again. The police come and take Amy away but it doesn't turn out quite like she thought it would be.

Crank is a book that starts with a bang and keeps the rest of the way through. Crank by Ellen Hopkins tells the story of Vicki's life, how she goes from the normal girl next door to a heroine who must stay ahead of her psychotic ex-boyfriend. The audiobook is narrated by ['Laura Flanagan'] who does an amazing job narrating this story in a way that makes you feel as if you are on a thrill ride through out it.

Crank is a coming-of-age story about the pain of being a teenager in America. The protagonist, Ally, has an abusive mother and stepfather. She is depressed because she feels like no one understands her. The book begins with Ally attempting to kill herself by overdosing on pills.
