City of the Undead is a very interesting book. It's a novel that takes place in Russia and tells the story of a man who has gone mad with grief over watching his wife die by drowning. He believes she is still alive and is being held prisoner by an entity he calls The Master. His plan is to find her in every city in Russia, where he believes she would be held captive as well.

In City of the Undead, we are introduced to a world where humans have been wiped out. All that is left is a few scattered groups that are kept alive through a central source of power called 'lumens'. Life for the few survivors is made even more difficult when the undead arrive on their shores and start making people go mad with their hunger for flesh. There is only one man who can save humanity: Gabriel Vaughan.

Gabriel is a main character of a science fiction novel that takes place in an alternate Earth where the dead have re-awakened and now walk among the living. The story takes place in an American city where people are forced to battle these undead every day. Gabriel has been assigned by the government to uncover the truth behind these creatures.

I loved the audiobook because it was fast paced and filled with action. The narrative really had me hooked from the beginning. What I liked most was that it wasn't just zombies involved. There were other creatures, different storylines, and interesting characters that added a lot of depth to the book.

The story is set in the city of Czestochowa, Poland, in the year 2005. The story centers around two brothers: Daniel, who was born and raised in the city, and his younger brother Jurek who has recently moved there from Ukraine. It's Daniel's job to take care of his brother by teaching him about life in the Polish city during a time when it was still peaceful and multicultural. Things start to change soon after when the undead begin to rise and literally eat people alive as Daniel as well as other members of society struggle to find a solution for their problems.

City of the Undead is a vampire horror story with a unique twist. The story takes place in the United States during the 1920s and 1930s. The protagonist, a small-time criminal named Mikhail, is released from prison and helps his friends in their plan to rob an armored car bound for Chicago. When they come under attack by the undead, Mikhail finds himself caught between his life of crime and his new life as a vampire.
