Castle of Kings Free Audiobook Download by Betty Shreffler

Castle of Kings by Betty Shreffler is an audiobook about a girl named Sharon who moves from Ireland to America with her parents. Sharon's dad is in charge of the castle and he tells her a lot about the history of it. There is a ghost roaming around the castle and the story goes on to explore the supernatural world.

A once upon a time, giants reigned over the earth. Their reach was long and their grip was strong. No matter how difficult the obstacles they had their way. Then one day, the gods took pity on the world and decided to destroy these giants. With thundering breathing they sent him his beloved king's soul, whose journey will span centuries into the future where he can find a new home in this castle.

One of the best things about this audiobook is how it captures different voices. When I say different voices, I mean every character's voice has a different tone and pitch. For example, when they introduce Betty's son or grandson we hear them with a sweet tone. When they introduce the queen we hear her with a strong voice. There is no one tone for all characters in this book and that's why it was so enjoyable to listen to it.

The book is about a new princess who has been raised in seclusion because she has inherited a curse from her mother. It's only after her mother's death that she realizes that the curse is actually a blessing. It sets her on a journey to find the five crowns which will allow her to be free of the curse and help save the kingdom.

"Castle of Kings" is about a girl named Flora who's left alone in the world when we find out her parents' were killed in an accident. She is sent to live with her cousin, aunt and uncle and embarks on a journey filled with sadness and anger. The narrator slowly reveals that her parents weren't really dead, but had been kidnapped by a man named Edward, who promises to return them if she agrees to serve him for the rest of her life. It still takes some time for Flora to see through his lies, but eventually she becomes brave enough to take matters into her own hands.

The audiobook is a great introduction to this book. With the narration by Jillian Macie and Troy Duran, listeners will immediately find themselves hooked on the story.
