The first time I heard this story was as a part of a bedtime story that my mom read to me. The second time I heard it, I understood why she loved it so much. It is truly unlike anything else in its grasp of the human condition, and fear.

In the original Blade Runner, Rick Deckard is a thirty-six year old blade runner. This is how the story begins. He's a bounty hunter tasked with "retiring" rogue androids for the Los Angeles Police Department - as well as hunting down a legendary replicant called Rick Deckard himself.

Blade Runner is set in a dystopian future where humans and androids coexist. The story follows Rick Deckard, a bounty hunter who tracks down renegade androids to ensure peace in the society. The novel's style was highly influential on many other science fiction works of the time.
