Blackbird in the Reeds Free Audiobook Download by Sam Burns

Blackbird in the Reeds by Sam Burns is a story that follows a young man as he learns to live with his newly discovered powers of telepathy and telekinesis. The narrator, Chris Chambers, has an excellent voice that brings life and dimension to the characters in the book. His rich, deep tones give life to a story that's about so much more than just a man discovering new powers.

This is a touching and powerful story about the bond between a human being, Henry, and his dog, Blackbird. Henry's dad is kind of strict with him, forcing him to participate in lots of sports and punishing his mistakes. Sometimes he feels left out because he doesn't have any friends or anything but luckily for him, he has Blackbird. One day when Henry's dad starts yelling in his fatherly way as usual and smacking him on the back of the head, his mom comes in from outside and just begins to look at her husband with this loving but sad expression that says everything without having to say it.

Blackbird in the Reeds is about a girl named Alice who, on her way to school, discovers a blackbird in the reeds by her house and befriends it. The bird seems to not be able to fly as fast as other birds and Alice soon learns it lives deep in the reeds because that's where she finds food for it.

Blackbird in the Reeds is a story of a young woman whose husband is killed during deployment. The story begins with her visiting his grave and listening to the birdsong. The language and mood of the book are very gentle and it felt like I was being gently guided through a walk through grief.

Sixteen-year-old Jenny learned to speak during the summer in her grandmother's garden. That is where she learned to sing, too.

[The protagonist] has been living on the streets for a long time. He has lived in abandoned warehouses, under bridges, and even in a sewer. He is finally found by a group of people trying to create an anarchist society and are looking for men like him who would be willing to work. In this society rules are made democratically and with everyone's input. As life progresses [the protagonist] finds himself making friends for the first time. The narrator does an amazing job narrating this book as not only does he give life to the main character but also makes all the other characters seem alive too.
