Big Sky Summer is the first book in Linda Lael Miller's Big Sky Series. The audiobook starts out with Jack Garrett arriving at his vacation cabin in Montana. He meets Mandy, a girl his age who has been living on her own in the woods for some time and is just trying to get back home after being run out by the owner of her cabin before leaving town. Jack helps her get back with help from some friends along the way.

Big Sky Summer is a story of the old west. It's 1876 and twenty-two year-old Kate McBride has just married a local rancher, Tom Lang. Her stepmother, Sarah - the woman who raised her - insists that she should be wed by proxy in order to begin their life together. When Kate finally meets Tom, she knows she made the right decision. The two are deeply in love and when they arrive at their destination, Sarah introduces her new daughter-in-law to ranch life. However, with only one male neighbor for miles, danger lurks around every corner and soon Kate finds herself fighting for her life against everything from outlaws to cougars.

There is so much adventure and romance in this book, it's hard to find a way to stop listening. My favorite thing about the audiobook is Jack Garrett's narration.
